Tangiers shortlisted for upcoming industry award

Tangiers International is delighted to have been shortlisted for a prestigious industry award – coming hot on the heels of an already jam-packed year of achievement.

The International Travel and Health Insurance Journal (ITIJ) Industry Awards 2017 seeks to recognise companies which go above and beyond to serve their customers and clients.

Tangiers is one of three finalists in the International Assistance Company of the Year category for its work in some of the world’s most dangerous or remote regions.

The company was nominated for various reasons, one of the main being its innovative approach to emergency assistance, in which local partners are utilised on the ground to ensure developing situations are handled as quickly and efficiently as possible.

This responsiveness gives Tangiers International the edge when arranging emergency treatment, security or medical evacuation, negotiating local bureaucracy or just being able to issue reassurances in person, following an incident.

“We’re honoured to be selected. It’s exciting to return to ITIJ as a finalist, and great to receive recognition for the hard work and dedication of the team.”

The philosophy of Tangiers International is always putting the safety and health of its claimants first and having an experienced emergency assistance team coupled with field agents in-country allowed the company to react fast in an emergency.

“In situations involving conflict or a war zone, for example, the clock is often ticking. The client on the other end of the phone needs your help and they don’t care how you do it. We are able to use our vast network of field agents and proactively manage the case straight away.”

The awards ceremony, which will be held on November 8 in Barcelona, Spain, will cap an outstanding year for Tangiers International as well as its parent company Tangiers Group.

In May, Tangiers International was named a Certified B-Corporation for its commitment to social responsibility at a global level. The certification recognised Tangiers’ emphasis on building sustainable relationships with local partners in the regions where it operates.

With B-Corp Certification, Tangiers International has joined a global elite of ethically-minded companies which aim to be not only the best in the world, but the best for the world.

Meanwhile, Tangiers International has just launched its very first online app – meaning claimants can access a wealth of information and handle various aspects of their claim wherever they are in the world.

The Tangiers International Customer App will allow policy holders to check out recommended service providers in their area, submit a claim, read their policy information, set up travel alerts and get in touch with representatives.

Currently being downloaded by the first ‘early-adopters’, the app is just part of Tangiers International’s philosophy of technological innovation – changing the industry by offering clients and partners easier and more efficient ways of getting in touch and getting up-to-the-minute information.

Tangiers International operates in more than 190 countries worldwide offering a range of services to both corporate and private clients including medical case management, claims management, site assessments and more.
